Susan Schwartz - Clairsentient
I have always had “good hands".
I told myself – and others – that it was because my mom had asked me to take the kinks out of her shoulders. I learned early to give a good massage.
Whenever anyone complained of a kink in their neck or back I freely offered to see if I could release it. (I usually could.)
One day, sitting in a group of friends, casually working out an ache in someone’s shoulder, I felt a sharp pain stabbing my lower back. It hadn’t been there a second ago.
I pressed on the corresponding spot of the person whose back I was massaging.
“Does it hurt here?” I asked him.
He nearly jumped out of his seat. “OWWW!”
I took a minute to focus in on what else was going on in my body.
The pain had left my back and was now in my lower calf.
“How about here?”
“YES! How did you know that?”
“I feel it,” I told him. “I feel in my body where the energy is stuck in yours.”
As time went on, I tested out my new-found skill on people in all kinds of situations.
I had no idea what to call what I did, or how to explain it.
In subsequent years, I investigated and took classes in bodywork of many different kinds: Accupressure. Swedish Massage. Shamanic Healing. Rubenfeld Synergy. Hanna Somatics. They developed my understanding, but none explained my perception.
What I came to recognize is that I have the gift and skill of clairsentience.
Clairsentience is the ability to feel and experience energy in an intuitive way.
